Heart rate variability in patients with anxiety disorders: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Ying-Chih Cheng et al.

Summary: This study, using a meta-analysis approach, found that patients with anxiety disorders have lower heart rate variability compared to healthy individuals, particularly in patients with post-traumatic stress disorder, panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and social anxiety disorder. However, no significant differences were found in HRV reactivity between the two groups.
