Circular RNA Sequencing Reveals Serum Exosome Circular RNA Panel for High-Grade Astrocytoma Diagnosis

Peiyao Li et al.

Summary: This study revealed a comprehensive landscape of circRNAs in exosomes and cells of high-grade astrocytoma (HGA). The serum exosome circRNA panel and tissue circRNAs have potential for liquid biopsy and prognosis monitoring in HGA. Exosome circRNAs as novel targets should facilitate further biomarker discovery and aid in HGA diagnosis and therapy monitoring.

Biological functions, mechanisms, and clinical significance of circular RNA in pancreatic cancer: a promising rising star

Qun Chen et al.

Summary: Pancreatic cancer is a highly malignant tumor with unknown mechanisms and limited biomarkers and therapeutic strategies. Circular RNAs (circRNAs), a type of non-coding RNA, may be involved in the development of pancreatic cancer. This review provides an overview of circRNAs, their functions, and their clinical significance in pancreatic cancer. The review also highlights the remaining questions and the potential of circRNAs as targets for diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic cancer.

circNDUFB2 inhibits non-small cell lung cancer progression via destabilizing IGF2BPs and activating anti-tumor immunity

Botai Li et al.

Summary: It was found that circNDUFB2 is downregulated in NSCLC tissues and inhibits the growth and metastasis of NSCLC cells by enhancing the interaction between TRIM25 and IGF2BPs. circNDUFB2 also activates anti-tumor immune responses by binding to RIG-I.

Jieli Pan et al.

Summary: Shikonin can inhibit the growth and induce apoptosis of non-small cell lung cancer cells by up-regulating miR-628-3p, which involves promoting the expression of p53 and miR-628-3p, and direct interaction between p53 and the promoter of miR-628-3p.

Hypoxic exosomal HIF-1α-stabilizing circZNF91 promotes chemoresistance of normoxic pancreatic cancer cells via enhancing glycolysis

Zhu Zeng et al.

Summary: Research shows that hypoxic exosomal circZNF91 can enhance chemoresistance in pancreatic cancer cells through the miR-23b-3p/SIRT1/HIF-1α pathway. Clinical data also indicates that upregulated circZNF91 is associated with overexpression of glycolytic enzymes and shorter overall survival time in PC patients.

Hypoxic Glioma Stem Cell-Derived Exosomes Containing Linc01060 Promote Progression of Glioma by Regulating the MZE1/c-Myc/HIF1α Axis

Junjun Li et al.

Summary: The study elucidated the mechanisms by which hypoxic lncRNA derived from glioma stem cells (GSC) drive glioma progression, involving the Linc01060 gene, exosomes containing it, and proteins regulating the gene. Transfer of exosomes from GSCs to glioma cells increased Linc01060 levels and activated prooncogenic signaling pathways. Inhibition of Linc01060-containing exosomes or targeting the Linc01060/MZEI/c-Myc/HIF1 alpha axis could be an effective therapeutic strategy in glioma.
