Micronucleus test and nuclear abnormality assay in zebrafish (Danio rerio): Past, present, and future trends

Aryelle Canedo et al.

Summary: This study summarized the literature on micronucleus (MN) and other nuclear abnormalities (NA) in zebrafish, and their applications in toxicity screening and environmental risk assessment. It was found that MN was the most frequently encountered NA in zebrafish, with 15 other types of nuclear alterations reported. The study also discussed the molecular mechanisms underlying NA in zebrafish, as well as the impact of different pollutants.

Glyphosate concentrations in global freshwaters: are aquatic organisms at risk?

Emilia Marques Brovini et al.

Summary: The study found that the majority of countries worldwide do not have restrictive legislation for aquatic glyphosate concentrations, potentially posing risks to aquatic organisms. Glyphosate concentrations above 1 μg L-1 may present high risks to aquatic organisms.

Research Advances in Allelopathy of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) of Plants

Yiqi Xie et al.

Summary: The review discusses the effects of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) on plants' growth, competition, dormancy, resistance to diseases and pests, content of reactive oxygen species, enzyme activity, respiration, and photosynthesis. VOCs also play a role in plant-to-plant communication as signaling substances.
