Accelerate sulfamethoxazole degradation and detoxification by persulfate mediated with Fe2+&dithionite: Experiments and DFT calculation

Wei Song et al.

Summary: The study found that the Fe2+ and dithionite activated PDS system has higher efficiency in degrading SMX, and is effective at near-neutral pH. SO4.- and .OH were identified as the dominant reactive species, with functional groups playing a key role in SMX degradation.

High efficiency heterogeneous Fenton-like catalyst biochar modified CuFeO2 for the degradation of tetracycline: Economical synthesis, catalytic performance and mechanism

Shuaishuai Xin et al.

Summary: The CuFeO2/BC catalyst showed higher catalytic activity for tetracycline degradation due to better particle dispersion and larger surface area, with optimal conditions being CuFeO2/BC-1.0, H2O2 concentration of 57.63 mM, and pH 6.27. Through experiments, it was demonstrated that CuFeO2/BC-1.0 has excellent reusability and stability.

TBBPA, TBBPS, and TCBPA disrupt hESC hepatic differentiation and promote the proliferation of differentiated cells partly via up-regulation of the FGF10 signaling pathway

Renjun Yang et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the developmental hepatic toxicity of three HFRs using a human embryonic stem cell hepatic differentiation-based system and transcriptomics analyses. The results showed that they may have common disruptive effects on hepatic differentiation, with TCBPA being significantly more potent.

Dye degradation in aqueous solution by dithionite/UV-C advanced reduction process (ARP): Kinetic study, dechlorination, degradation pathway and mechanism

Ahmadreza Yazdanbakhsh et al.

Summary: This study investigated the degradation of dye using an advanced reduction process (ARP). The research found that the hydrated electron generated under dithionite conditions was the dominant agent for the degradation of AY17. Despite the fast decolorization, mineralization of the dye was not efficient, and further research is needed to improve the overall effectiveness of ARP in treating organic pollutants with large molecular structures.

Reductive degradation of perfluorooctanoic acid in complex water matrices by using the UV/sulfite process

Zhongfei Ren et al.

Summary: Hydrated electrons generated from the UV/sulfite process have proved to be effective in degrading PFOA in water, with higher pH conditions enhancing the degradation significantly. However, the presence of carbonate, nitrate, and humic acid can significantly inhibit the degradation of PFOA.
