Summary: The study investigates the pyrolysis of scrap tyre rubber crumbs under nitrogen and treatment with pure carbon dioxide using both isothermal and dynamic methods, revealing workable engineering kinetics models. The isothermally derived pre-exponential factors and activation energies were further refined by non-linear fitting to the dynamic data, and the Sestak-Berggren equation was also used with varying factors dependent on degree of conversion.

Mechanism analysis of gas products from catalytic pyrolysis of tire rubber based on reaction thermodynamics and kinetics

Summary: This paper investigated the gas products from the pyrolysis of tire rubber using fixed bed pyrolysis experiments, gas chromatography analysis, and molecular dynamics simulations. The results showed that Fe2O3 acted as a catalyst, reducing the final pyrolysis temperature and increasing the pyrolysis rate. Additionally, it altered the distribution of gas products by promoting CH4 and H2 while reducing C2H4.
