Functionalization of Covalent Organic Frameworks with DNA via Covalent Modification and the Application to Exosomes Detection

Jianyang Lu et al.

Summary: In this study, we proposed a functionalization strategy for covalent organic frameworks (COFs) using DNA. The DNA-functionalized COFs exhibited good hybridization ability and cargo loading ability. Based on this, an electrochemical biosensor for the detection of exosomes was developed. The functionalized COFs enabled the recognition and capture of exosomes, while the encapsulation of methylene blue in the COFs enhanced the sensitivity of the biosensor.

Sorting sub-150-nm liposomes of distinct sizes by DNA-brick-assisted centrifugation

Yang Yang et al.

Summary: A new sorting technique using cholesterol-modified DNA is reported, which can separate liposomes into six to eight homogeneous populations. These uniform and leak-resistant liposomes are ideal for studying how membrane curvature affects membrane protein activities, benefiting research in membrane biology and the development of liposomal drug-delivery systems.

Co-assembly of Peptides and Carbon Nanodots: Sensitive Analysis of Transglutaminase 2

Yiwei Han et al.

Summary: This study explored the co-assembly of peptides and carbon nanodots (CNDs) using non-covalent binding, combining the recognition capability of peptides with the catalytic activity of CNDs. The assembled structure was used for sensitive analysis of transglutaminase 2 with a low detection limit of 0.25 pg/mL. This strategy can be developed into a universal model for building co-assemblies of peptides and nanomaterials, expanding their applications in biological and biomedical research.
