Application of a new depressant dithiocarbamate chitosan in separation of chalcopyrite and molybdenite

Summary: The study tested the new depressant DTC-CTS in the flotation separation of chalcopyrite and molybdenite, showing a good depressing effect on chalcopyrite. Through contact angle measurement, FTIR, and ToF-SIMS analysis, it was found that DTC-CTS strongly adsorbs onto the chalcopyrite surface mainly via the -NCSS bonding with the metal atoms, increasing the hydrophilicity of chalcopyrite and leading to their successful separation.
