Superscalability of the random batch Ewald method

Jiuyang Liang et al.

Summary: Coulomb interaction, a quantification of force between stationary and electrically charged particles, presents a challenge to molecular dynamics simulations due to its long-range nature. This study proposes an efficient algorithm using the random batch Ewald method, which improves scalability and computational speed compared to existing algorithms. The algorithm is validated on various systems and provides a promising solution for computing Coulomb interactions at nano-/micro-scales.

The symmetry-preserving mean field condition for electrostatic correlations in bulk

Zhonghan Hu

Summary: Accurate handling of electrostatics is crucial for simulations of condensed systems of ions or polar molecules. This study examines the behavior of the charge structure factor at small wavenumbers for systems with arbitrary charge-charge interactions and finds that existing methods fail to capture the exact charge correlations. However, these methods can be amended to meet the necessary conditions and accurately probe electrostatic correlations.
