Height Loss in Old Age and Fracture Risk Among Men in Late Life: A Prospective Cohort Study

Summary: The study found that height loss in elderly men is associated with a higher risk of subsequent clinical fractures, especially hip fractures. The greater the height loss, the higher the risk of fractures, even after accounting for competing mortality risk and traditional skeletal and non-skeletal risk factors.
