Designable Skin-like Triboelectric Nanogenerators Using Layer-by-Layer Self-Assembled Polymeric Nanocomposites

Habtamu Gebeyehu Menge et al.

Summary: A high-performance triboelectric film was developed using an ultra-thin, stretchable, and transparent hydrogen-bonded poly(ethylene oxide) and poly(acrylic acid) bilayer through a layer-by-layer method. The film exhibited remarkable output performance and can be designed, folded, and sustainably applied to triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs).

Simple and Scalable Protocol for Producing Hydrophobic Polymer Brushes Beyond Wafer-Scale Dimensions toward Real-Life Applications

Tomoya Sato et al.

Summary: This study demonstrated a simple and scalable method of grafting various hydrophobic polymer brushes onto organic/inorganic substrates using water-accelerated paint-on SI-ATRP. Uniform hydrophobic polymer brushes with adjustable levels of hydrophobicity could be easily grafted from substrates in a short reaction time, showing potential for applications in liquid repellency, antismudge/self-cleaning, and anti-icing properties.

Analysing trimethylaluminum infiltration into polymer brushes using a scalable area selective vapor phase process

M. Snelgrove et al.

Summary: Developing vapor phase infiltration (VPI) processes for area selective polymer nanopatterning requires substantial advancement in understanding precursor infiltration, precursor-polymer interaction and process parameters. In this study, the interaction between TMA and P2VP/P4VP was analyzed in detail, and the use of P4VP was found to have notable advantages for VPI area selective purposes. By investigating the effects of fundamental process parameters, optimal area selectivity was ensured.
