This study maps the contaminated regions of Urania city using electroresistance contrasts. The results indicate the accumulation of organic contaminants in the northeast area of the city, close to the aquifer discharge region. By considering previously published chemical analyzes, resistivity anomalies accurately highlight the contaminated areas within and next to the aquifer.
The city of Urania (SP) has presented cases of contamination of the Adamantina Aquifer since the 1970s. This work maps contaminated regions using electroresistance contrasts. Vertical Electrical Surveys (VESs) and Constant-Separation Traversing (CST) provided a representative resistivity dataset of the municipality. The results show resistivities below 0.5 Ohm.m in the northeast area of the city, close to the aquifer discharge region, where there is a concentration of organic contaminants. The resistivity anomalies, constrained by previously published chemical analyzes, highlighted contaminated areas in the aquifer within and next to the city.
