Multifunctional passivation agents for improving efficiency and stability of perovskite solar cells: Synergy of methyl and carbonyl groups

Se-Phin Cho et al.

Summary: This study explores the use of bi-functional and multi-functional passivation agents to enhance the performance of perovskite solar cells, showing that these compounds can improve the crystallinity and charge collection capabilities of perovskite films. By introducing different functional groups, such as COCH3 groups comprising piperidine rings, CH3, and C = O, the defect passivation effect is further enhanced, resulting in an increased power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 19.67%. Additionally, the Voc and long-term stability of COCH3-based PesC are substantially improved.

Efficient Slot-Die-Processed Perovskite Solar Cells With 3-Allyloxy-1, 2-Propanediol Additive

Hyun-Jung Lee et al.

Summary: In this study, a functional additive-assisted slot-die-coating process was used to fabricate high-quality perovskite films, resulting in improved performance and stability of perovskite solar cells. The addition of 3-allyloxy-1, 2-propanediol (AP) in the perovskite precursor solution led to the formation of a high-quality film and the suppression of surface defects.

Revealing key factors of efficient narrow-bandgap mixed lead-tin perovskite solar cells via numerical simulations and experiments

Wenjun Zhang et al.

Summary: This study investigates key factors for achieving high-performance narrow-bandgap Pb-Sn perovskite solar cells through numerical simulations. The results show that a p-i-n structure with appropriate charge transport layers and optimizing surface defect density, body defect density, and film thickness can significantly improve device performance. The simulations suggest that fully optimized narrow-bandgap Pb-Sn PSCs can achieve a power conversion efficiency of 28.56%. The study also successfully fabricates efficient narrow-bandgap Pb-Sn single-junction and all-perovskite tandem PSCs, demonstrating the potential for further improvement in the future.

Efficient mixed-cation perovskite photovoltaic cells via additive-assisted slot-die deposition

Hyun-Jung Lee et al.

Summary: The main aim of this study was to enhance the quality of slot-die-processed perovskite film layer by using an additive process, which could improve the performance and stability of perovskite devices. The addition of 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate (HEA) as an effective functional group controlled the growth, grain size, and defects of perovskite. The resulting device fabricated with HEA as an additive achieved a high efficiency of 16.08% and maintained an initial efficiency of 80% under air for 95 days.

Hydrogen Bonds in Precursor Solution: The Origin of the Anomalous J-V Curves in Perovskite Solar Cells

Lin Zhang et al.

Summary: Perovskite Solar Cells are a promising solar energy harvesting technology that can achieve high efficiency at low cost. This study investigates the use of a gas quenching process (GQP) to eliminate the need for toxic solvents in perovskite layer preparation. The research finds that the quality of perovskite crystal from GQP is more sensitive to Lewis base molecules in the precursor solution compared to traditional anti-solvent technology.
