Cross-Linking Induced Emission of Polymer Micelles for High-Contrast Visualization Level 3 Details of Latent Fingerprints

Rou Zou et al.

Summary: In this study, fluorescent polymer micelles (PMs) were designed and synthesized for high-contrast fluorescence imaging of latent fingerprints (LFPs). The PMs exhibited aggregation-induced emission (AIE) and excited state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) properties, allowing for high water dispersibility, high selectivity, a large Stokes shift, good photostability, and excellent long-term stability. The PMs preferentially adhered onto the ridges of fingerprints due to hydrophobic interaction, and the cross-linking reaction induced emission properties enabled high-contrast imaging of LFPs in different substrates.

Cysteine recognition by a benzothiazole-derived fluorescent probe with AIE plus ESIPT characteristics

Yongxin Pan et al.

Summary: In this study, a series of fluorescent dyes based on 2-(2'-hydroxyphenyl)benzothiazole derivatives were designed and synthesized, which exhibited long-wavelength emission and a larger Stokes shift due to their structural characteristics of AIE + ESIPT. A fluorescent probe, HBTN-Y, was prepared based on the fluorescent dye HBTN and showed high selectivity towards cysteine, with OFF-ON fluorescence response, a large Stokes shift, and long-wavelength emission in a specific solution. The probe demonstrated good anti-interference ability, low detection limit, and applicability for live cell imaging.
