Low-Frequency Broadband Absorbing Coatings Based on MOFs: Design, Fabrication, Microstructure and Properties

Wei Si et al.

Summary: This review mainly introduces the application of metal-organic framework-derived carbon-based composites in the field of electromagnetic materials and functional devices. Although most microwave absorbing materials have good absorption ability at higher frequencies, they perform poorly at lower frequencies. Therefore, this paper compares the absorption properties of traditional materials and MOF materials, and discusses the promising strategies for designing low-frequency MAMs with broadband absorption based on recent progress. Finally, the main problems, fabrication methods, and applications for future prospects are discussed.

Solid-phase sintering and vapor-liquid-solid growth of BP@MgO quantum dot crystals with a high piezoelectric response

Qingwei Liao et al.

Summary: Low-dimensional piezoelectric and quantum piezotronics are two important branches of low-dimensional materials that play crucial roles in the development of low-dimensional devices, circuits, and systems. In this study, we propose a solid-phase sintering and vapor-liquid-solid growth method to prepare a quantum-sized oxide material, BP@MgO quantum dot crystal, with a strong piezoelectric response. The crystal exhibits layered two-dimensional structure with a thickness of 11 nm and shows extremely strong polarity, which is confirmed by piezoresponse force microscopy images as well as polarization reversal and pressure sensor experiments.
