Development of Nickel- and Magnetite-Promoted Carbonized Cellulose Bead-Supported Bimetallic Pd-Pt Catalysts for Hydrogenation of Chlorate Ions in Aqueous Solution

Emoke Sikora et al.

Summary: Cellulose grains were carbonized and used as catalyst supports for bimetallic palladium and platinum catalysts, promoted by nickel and magnetite. The bimetallic catalysts showed high catalytic activity in the hydrogenation of chlorate ions, with different conversion rates depending on the promoter used. Reuse tests indicated good stability of the catalysts, with only a minor decrease in catalytic activity after multiple cycles.
