IBtkα Activates the β-Catenin-Dependent Transcription of MYC through Ubiquitylation and Proteasomal Degradation of GSK3β in Cancerous B Cells

Eleonora Vecchio et al.

Summary: The IBTK gene encodes the IBtk alpha protein, which plays a role in the regulation of MYC-dependent B-lymphomagenesis. Mechanistically, IBtk alpha indirectly activates the beta-catenin-dependent transcription of the MYC gene by modulating GSK3 beta. Silencing IBtk alpha leads to downregulation of MYC expression and increased apoptosis in Burkitt's lymphoma cells.

Iron Administration Overcomes Resistance to Erastin-Mediated Ferroptosis in Ovarian Cancer Cells

Anna Martina Battaglia et al.

Summary: This study proposes the baseline and induced intracellular free iron level as a significant determinant of ferroptosis sensitivity and discusses the potential use of ferlixit in combination with erastin to overcome ferroptosis chemoresistance in ovarian cancer.

An integrated transcriptomic and proteomic approach to identify the main Torymus sinensis venom components

Carmen Scieuzo et al.

Summary: Through an integrated transcriptomic and proteomic approach, 143 venom proteins in Torymus sinensis were identified, with hydrolases and protease inhibitors being the most abundant. These proteins have potential effects on the host's immune system, physiological processes, and development, contributing to the nutrition of the parasitoid progeny.

PRDX6 Overexpression Promotes Proliferation, Invasion, and Migration of A549 Cells in vitro and in vivo

Hao Li et al.

Summary: The expression of PRDX6 is significantly higher in NSCLC tissues compared to adjacent tissues, promoting proliferation, invasion, and migration of A549 cells. Overexpression of PRDX6 inhibits the expression of phosphorylated beta-catenin and E-cadherin, while PRDX6 silencing decreases the expression of c-MYC, TCF-4, and MMP14, inhibiting EMT in A549 cells.

ZNF224 is a mediator of TGF-β pro-oncogenic function in melanoma

Elena Cesaro et al.

Summary: The zinc finger protein ZNF224 has been found to play a role in promoting tumorigenic properties in melanoma, including cell proliferation and invasiveness. ZNF224 modulates the expression of TGF-beta itself and its receptors, possibly enhancing endogenous TGF beta/Smad signaling and promoting epithelial-mesenchymal transition and tumor metastasis.
