Long Non-Coding RNA GDAR Regulates Ovine Granulosa Cells Apoptosis by Affecting the Expression of Apoptosis-Related Genes

Yong Wang et al.

Summary: Short-term dietary supplementation of ewes during the luteal phase can increase fertility, most probably by stimulating glucose uptake by the follicles. In this study, the effects of glucose dosage on granulosa cells were investigated, and novel and annotated lncRNAs associated with cell apoptosis were identified. The study also revealed the involvement of the apoptosis pathway and the p53 signaling pathway in glucose regulation of follicular development. In addition, a specific lncRNA, lncGDAR, was found to affect cell apoptosis in granulosa cell development. These findings provide a foundation for further research on the lncRNA regulation mechanism of nutrition on female fertility.

Ammonia stimulates SCAP/Insig dissociation and SREBP-1 activation to promote lipogenesis and tumour growth

Chunming Cheng et al.

Summary: In this study, researchers found that ammonia released from glutaminolysis activates SREBP-1 and promotes lipogenesis, thus supporting tumor growth. The study reveals the role of ammonia as a key activator in promoting lipid synthesis through dissociation of SCAP-Insig and activation of SREBP-1. It also demonstrates the critical role of SCAP as a sensor for glutamine, glucose, and sterol levels in precise control of lipid synthesis.

Integrated analysis of miRNA-mRNA interaction in ovaries of Turpan Black Sheep during follicular and luteal phases

Pengyan Song et al.

Summary: The study revealed significant changes in expression patterns of miRNAs and genes during the follicular-luteal phase transition in Turpan black sheep, indicating their crucial roles in reproductive hormone biosynthesis and follicular development. The differentially expressed genes were enriched in various pathways, including metabolic pathway, ovarian steroidogenesis, steroid hormone biosynthesis, and estrogen signaling pathway. By creating a miRNA-mRNA regulatory network, key miRNAs and genes involved in the follicular-luteal transition were identified, providing a clear molecular basis for the process.

Summary: Researchers investigated the involvement of NEAT1 and miR-381 in PCOS, finding that NEAT1 expression increased while miR-381 expression decreased in granulosa cells of PCOS patients and rats. Interfering with NEAT1 improved hormone levels and reduced ovarian tissue damage in PCOS rats by upregulating miR-381 and reducing IGF1 levels, indicating its potential therapeutic role in PCOS treatment.
