Summary: Paclitaxel (PTX) is successfully loaded onto halloysite nanotubes (HNTs) by surface modification of distearoyl phosphoethanolamine (DSPE), achieving a drug loading of 18.44% and a near complete release of the drug. The enhanced anticancer efficacy of DSPE-HNTs15-PTX, with cell viability below 52%, is attributed to lower interfacial energy inside and outside the tubes, improving drug loading.

Further studies with different cell models are recommended to evaluate the toxic effects of HNTs on the entire human body.
