Effect of additives on iron recovery and dephosphorization by reduction roasting-magnetic separation of refractory high-phosphorus iron ore

Shi-chao Wu et al.

Summary: In the reduction roasting and magnetic separation process of high-phosphorus iron ore, Na2CO3 had the most significant effect on iron recovery and dephosphorization, while the effect of CaF2 was negligible. Na2CO3 can promote the reduction of iron oxides and growth of iron particles, resulting in better iron recovery and separation of iron and phosphorus.

Cell morphology, porosity, microstructure and mechanical properties of porous Fe-C-P alloys

Hamid Sazegaran et al.

Summary: Open cell steel foams were successfully fabricated using urea granules as the space holder in this study. The influence of different amounts of phosphorus on the cell morphology, porosity, microstructure of cell walls, and mechanical properties of steel foams was investigated. Increasing phosphorus content resulted in higher porosity and improved mechanical properties of the steel foams.

Reaction Mechanism of Low-Grade Phosphate Ore During Vacuum Carbothermal Reduction

Qinghui Wu et al.

Summary: In this study, the non-isothermal kinetic method was used to investigate the reaction mechanism of the vacuum carbothermal reduction of low-grade phosphate ore. The results showed that Ca-5(PO4)(3)F first reacted with SiO2 in the ore sample to form Ca-3(PO4)(2), CaSiO3, and SiF4, followed by the reduction of Ca-3(PO4)(2) by C to produce CaO, P-2, CO, and CaF2. The validation confirmed that the reaction process was controlled by the shrinking core model and 3-D diffusion.

Gasification Behavior of Phosphorus during Pre-reduction Sintering of Medium-high Phosphorus Iron Ore

Yanbiao Chen et al.

Summary: The study found that adding SiO2 and Na2CO3 is the most effective method for dephosphorization, extending the reduction time can increase the dephosphorization rate, and restricting the migration of phosphorus into the iron phase is the key point to improving the gasification dephosphorization efficiency.
