Influence of regeneration conditions on cyclic sorption-enhanced steam reforming of ethanol in fixed-bed reactor

Chien-Hung Chen et al.

Summary: The study investigated the effect of regeneration conditions on cyclic sorption-enhanced steam reforming of ethanol using columnar Ni-Ca catalysts in a fixed-bed reactor. Results showed that the regeneration temperature significantly impacted both the CO2 desorption rate and the durability of the CaO sorbent, while the type of purge gas had negligible effect on the CO2 capture performance of the Ni-Ca catalyst. Regeneration with air purging led to coke decomposition and a slight decline in the activity of the Ni catalyst due to cyclic Ni redox.

Inter-molecular interactions of phthalic acid esters and multi-stage sorption revealed by experimental investigations and computation simulations

Xiangzhi Zuo et al.

Summary: This study investigated the role of inter-molecular interactions in controlling the sorption characteristics of phthalic acid esters (PAEs) molecules. DEP and DBP were selected as model pollutants and their sorption on CFBCs was studied through experiments and simulations. The results showed that DBP molecules had stronger interactions and lower binding energy, leading to the formation of more stable clusters and adsorption as a unit at low concentrations. This highlights the importance of considering inter-molecular interactions in studying the behavior and risks of PAEs.

Low-Temperature Catalytic Dry Reforming of Methane over Pd Promoted Ni-CaO-Ca12Al14O33 Multifunctional Catalyst

Chengxiong Dang et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates the effective catalysis of dry reforming of methane at 600 degrees C by Pd-promoted Ni-CaO-Ca12Al14O33 multifunctional adsorbent/catalyst materials with high CO2 and CH4 conversion rates. The presence of Pd enhances CH4 dissociation activity and allows for reversible encapsulation and release of Ni particles to prevent sintering. The catalyst also shows long-term stability due to easy removal of active carbon species by CO2 and CaCO3.
