Green hydrogen standard in China: Standard and evaluation of low-carbon hydrogen, clean hydrogen, and renewable hydrogen

Wei Liu et al.

Summary: Building a low-carbon and clean hydrogen supply system has become a global consensus with the proposal of carbon neutral goals in various countries, the deepening of global action on climate change, and the acceleration of green economy recovery in the post epidemic era. The standards for green hydrogen have been discussed globally, and China has issued the first formal green hydrogen standard, providing calculation methods for greenhouse gas emissions of different hydrogen production paths.

Kinetic studies for DRM over high-performance Ni-W/Al2O3-MgO catalyst

Mohammad Yusuf et al.

Summary: The reaction kinetics of DRM over high-performance NieW/Al(2)O(3)-MgO bimetallic catalyst were investigated in a fixed bed reactor. The study found that the reaction rate of DRM is more sensitive to CH4 partial pressure compared to CO2 partial pressures. The activation energies for the consumption of CH4 and CO2 were determined to be 45.9 and 31.9 kJ/mol, respectively, indicating a higher energy barrier for CH4 activation. The Langmuir-Hinshelwood model showed the best fit between experimental and estimated reaction rates.

Green hydrogen for heating and its impact on the power system

Genaro Longoria et al.

Summary: Hydrogen is gaining attention as a fuel for residential heating due to its relatively high energy density, but its production depends on the power system, potentially impacting electricity prices and renewable generation curtailment. Introducing electrolysers may increase emissions from power generation and slightly raise electricity prices, with optimal locations determined by residential heating demand and surplus power supplies at electricity nodes.

A green hydrogen economy for a renewable energy society

Alexandra M. Oliveira et al.

Summary: The concept of a hydrogen economy as part of a low-carbon future has been long promoted, but there is little agreement on its exact implications. Research suggests that hydrogen can play a significant role in decarbonization across various sectors such as industry, transportation, buildings, and power.
