Optimizing the structure of Ni-Ni(OH)2/NiO core-shell nanowire electrodes for application in pseudocapacitors: The influence of metallic core, Ni(OH)2/NiO ratio and nanowire length

Pier Giorgio Schiavi et al.

Summary: An experimental analysis was conducted to optimize the structure of Ni-Ni(OH)(2)/NiO core-shell nanowire electrodes for pseudocapacitor applications. The thickness and composition of the active phase shell were found to be affected by thermal treatments at different temperatures, resulting in varying capacitance values. Tailoring the capacitance of the electrodes by controlling the nanowire length was evaluated, showing that mass transfer resistance can be negligible within a certain range.
