Boosting optical and electrical characteristics of polyvinyl alcohol/carboxymethyl cellulose nanocomposites by GNPs/MWCNTs fillers as an application in energy storage devices

Mymona Mohsen Abutalib et al.

Summary: The study focused on manufacturing polyvinyl alcohol and carboxymethyl cellulose films containing graphene nanoplates (GNPs)/MWCNTs to enhance optical, dielectric, and electrical properties. X-ray diffraction analysis highlighted the interaction between blend chains and GNPs/MWCNTs, showing a decrease in semicrystallinity with increasing GNPs/MWCNTs content. Ultraviolet (UV)-vis spectroscopy methods were used to examine the optical characteristics, while the frequency-dependent AC conductivity of the nanocomposites films analyzed the dynamic behavior of ions and revealed improved ionic conductivity with higher GNPs/MWCNTs concentration.

A. A. Al-Muntaser et al.

Summary: In this study, homogeneous thin films of Molybdenum oxide (MoO3) were successfully grown on quartz and glass substrates using the thermal evaporation method. The films exhibited amorphous nature and nearly uniform surfaces with worm-like shape grains. The optical and electrical properties of the films were investigated, revealing their linear and nonlinear optical characteristics, as well as the temperature dependence of their DC electrical conductivity and conduction mechanism.

Structural, optical, electrical, and DFT studies on polyvinyl pyrrolidone/polyethylene oxide polymer blend filled with MoO3 nanoplates for flexible energy-storage devices

A. A. Al-Muntaser et al.

Summary: Nanocomposite films of PVP/PEO containing MoO3 nanoplates were prepared and their structure, optical, and electrical properties were studied. The addition of MoO3 increased the amorphous polymer domains and promoted the interaction between PVP and PEO through hydrogen bonds. Furthermore, the optical band gap decreased and the electrical conductivity increased with the addition of MoO3. These findings are significant for the development of nanocomposite materials for ceramic capacitors and electrochemical devices.
