Monocyte phenotype as a predictive marker for wound healing in diabetes-related foot ulcers

Summary: The study demonstrated changes in circulating monocyte phenotype and MMPs as diabetes-related foot ulcers heal. An increase in %CD16(++) monocytes was associated with a higher wound closure rate, indicating a predictive role of %CD16(++) monocytes in ulcer healing. The findings suggest potential implications for monitoring wound healing outcomes in patients with DRFUs.
