Simultaneously and quantitatively analyze the heavy metals in Sargassum fusiforme by laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy

Laijin Su et al.

Summary: In this study, a detection model combining laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) with a simple framework was established to quantitatively analyze seven heavy metals in Sargassum fusiforme. The results showed that six of the heavy metal models were optimal, demonstrating the effectiveness of the TV-PLSR framework for quantitative analysis of heavy metals in Sargassum fusiforme.

Characteristics of the Irrigant Flow in a Simulated Lateral Canal Under Two Typical Laser-Activated Irrigation Regimens

Zheng Su et al.

Summary: Photon-induced photoacoustic streaming (PIPS) and shockwave-enhanced emission photoacoustic streaming (SWEEPS) are more effective in driving irrigant deep into the lateral canal compared to ultrasonic-activated irrigation (UAI). The back-and-forth flush in the breath mode during PIPS and SWEEPS is ideal for debris removal during irrigation, showing superior performance over UAI.

Postoperative pain after ultrasonically and laser-activated irrigation during root canal treatment: a randomized clinical trial

D. Liapis et al.

Summary: This study compared the intensity of postoperative pain after primary root canal treatment of asymptomatic teeth using ultrasonically and laser-activated irrigation. The results showed that both methods resulted in low and comparable levels of postoperative pain, with slightly higher pain intensity and incidence in the ultrasonically activated irrigation group at 6 hours postoperatively.

Model system parameters influence the sodium hypochlorite susceptibility of endodontic biofilms

Rosalie C. D. Swimberghe et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the influence of various model system parameters on the sodium hypochlorite susceptibility of endodontic biofilms in a laboratory setting, proposing a relevant in vitro model. The results showed that biofilm age, composition, and substrate significantly impacted the susceptibility of biofilms to sodium hypochlorite, highlighting the importance of selecting relevant parameters when designing laboratory biofilm models for antimicrobial treatment evaluation.
