High Precision Phase-OFDR Scheme Based on Fading Noise Suppression

Wei Feng et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a method combining multi-frequency detection and nearest neighbor analysis to improve the accuracy of optical frequency domain reflectometry (OFDR) measurement. By comparing sub-phase curves in different wavelength regions, the interference of coherent fading is eliminated, resulting in undistorted phase signal. Experimental results show that the proposed scheme can achieve similar phase measurement accuracy under less frequency division, and obtain better spatial resolution.

Reflectometry Study of the Pyroelectric Effect on Proton-Exchange Channel Waveguides in Lithium Niobate

Roman Ponomarev et al.

Summary: This study focuses on the pyroelectric effect on optical waveguides formed in lithium niobate crystals by proton exchange. It was found that optical losses are suppressed equally at all wavelengths in the range of 1530-1570 nm, and the increase in optical losses is observed along the entire waveguide, not just at the Y-splitting point as previously assumed.

P. Karnaushkin et al.

Summary: This study presents a method for aligning the waveguide of a photonic integrated circuit and an optical fiber based on reflections obtained using optical reflectometry in the frequency domain. Experimental results show that the accuracy of the alignment method is 4, 1, and 1 μm along the X, Y, and Z axes, respectively.
