Antiproliferative activity of nickel(II), palladium(II) and zinc(II) thiosemicarbazone complexes

M. Carcelli et al.

Summary: Complexes of nickel(II), palladium(II), and zinc(II) with thiosemicarbazone ligands were synthesized and evaluated for their antiproliferative and genotoxic activities. The nickel complexes showed the most promising results, particularly the nickel dimer [NiL](2), which exhibited both antiproliferative and genotoxic activities.

Summary: This study describes the synthesis of a thiosemicarbazone derivative and its copper and zinc complexes, and confirms their structures through elemental analysis, spectra data, and thermogravimetric analysis. The antimicrobial activity of these complexes is demonstrated, with the zinc complex exhibiting higher activity. Molecular docking studies suggest that these complexes may act as inhibitors of DHFR and topoisomerase IV.

Sara Janowska et al.

Summary: The study synthesized thiosemicarbazide and 1,3,4-thiadiazole derivatives and tested their antibacterial activity. Results showed that thiosemicarbazides exhibited moderate antimicrobial response, and it was dependent on the type and position of substituents on the phenyl ring. Molecular docking simulations suggested that the synthesized compounds may exert antibacterial activity through inhibition of DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV pathways.
