Low concentration rare earth doping (Nd) and its effect on structural properties of titania thin films

Akshayakumar Kompa et al.

Summary: The research focuses on the influence of neodymium as a dopant on the structural properties of titania thin films, examining the effects of doping and annealing temperature on grain growth through various characterization techniques. The presence of neodymium in the doped films was confirmed using EDAX, while XPS was used to analyze the chemical properties and observe a shift in binding energies of Ti2p and O1s spectra upon doping.

Electronic, magnetic and photocatalytic properties of Si doping in g-ZnO monolayer with point defects

Junqing Wen et al.

Summary: Si-doping in ZnO monolayer affects its magnetic properties and photocatalytic performance, introducing impurity states due to P-type doping and transitioning the system from NM to FM. The impurity states near the Fermi level caused by Si doping play a role in the transition and affect the magnetic properties.

Influence of defects on the structural, optical, photoluminescence and magnetic properties of Cr/Mn dual doped ZnO nanostructures

C. Prabakar et al.

Summary: Cr (2%) doped ZnO and Cr, Mn (Cr = 2% and Mn = 2-4%) dual doped ZnO nanostructures were successfully synthesized by chemical co-precipitation route. The study revealed that the reduced crystallite size at Mn = 2% and the presence of more oxygen vacancies and oxygen related defect sites in Zn-Mn-Cr-O lattice were responsible for the enhanced UV-visible absorption in the visible range. Additionally, the room temperature ferromagnetism in Cr, Mn doped ZnO is induced by both the oxygen vacancy mediated bound magnetic polarons (BMP) and the enhanced exchange coupling among the free electrons and local spin polarized electrons.
