Virtual emissivities of infrared thermometers

Tomas Ficker

Summary: The paper introduces a method for estimating the virtual emissivity of infrared thermometers, based on a comparative approach using two black body etalons with different emissivities heated to the same temperatures. The statistical uncertainty of this method is analyzed, showing that the results are acceptable with devices of sufficiently high precision.

Temperature-dependent mechanical properties of polyetherimide composites reinforced by graphene oxide-coated short carbon fibers

Zheng Sun et al.

Summary: The study found that GO sizing treatment can improve the tensile strength of short carbon fiber reinforced polymer composites at low and room temperatures, but may have negative effects at high temperatures. This is due to changes in fiber-matrix interfaces caused by thermal expansion mismatch.
