Isolation, structural modification, characterization, and bioactivity of polysaccharides from Folium Isatidis

Aytursun Abuduwaili et al.

Summary: The purification process of Folium Isatidis polysaccharide (FIP) was optimized using response surface method (RSM), leading to the isolation of the potential functional ingredient FIP-II and its derivatives. These compounds are heteropolysaccharides composed of various monosaccharides in different molar ratios, with structure modifications influencing their solution conformation, surface morphology, crystalline nature, and thermal properties.

Enzyme and microwave co-assisted extraction, structural characterization and antioxidant activity of polysaccharides from Purple-heart Radish

Yuyang Lin et al.

Summary: A novel method of simultaneous extraction and separation of diverse polysaccharides from Purple-heart Radish was developed by integrating EAE with MAATPE. Under the optimum conditions, the extraction yields of PTP, PBP and total polysaccharides were obtained, and the polysaccharides were found to exhibit strong antioxidant activities. The synergistic effect between EAE and MAATPE led to higher extraction efficiency compared to conventional methods.

Extraction, structure characterization, carboxymethylation and antioxidant activity of acidic polysaccharides from Craterellus cornucopioides

Yuntao Liu et al.

Summary: Polysaccharides (CCPs-1 and CCPs-2) were isolated and purified from Craterellus cornucopioides, containing different molar ratios of sugars. Structural analysis revealed that these polysaccharides were primarily connected by mannose with (1 -> 3)-linked and exhibited significant antioxidant activity, especially cmCCPs-2.

Pectic polysaccharides extracted from sesame seed hull: Physicochemical and functional properties

Hua-Min Liu et al.

Summary: The purpose of this study was to extract pectic polysaccharides from sesame seed hulls and determine their physicochemical and functional characteristics. The results showed that pectic polysaccharides with higher molecular weight were precipitated at lower ethanol concentrations, and that SSP30 had the highest galacturonic acid content and the strongest radical scavenging activity. This information can be used for the future industrial development of sesame hull polysaccharides.
