A copy number variant at the HPDA-D12 locus confers compact plant architecture in cotton

Gaoxiang Ji et al.

Summary: A study revealed that a copy number variant on Chromosome D12 affected the plant architecture in cotton, leading to shorter height, shorter branch length, and more acute branch angle in the mutant with elevated GhDREB1B expression. Fine-tuning GhDREB1B expression may be an effective engineering strategy for modifying plant architecture suitable for high planting density in cotton.

Molecular Targets and Biological Functions of cAMP Signaling in Arabidopsis

Ruqiang Xu et al.

Summary: cAMP signaling in plants has significant effects on seed germination, phytohormone contents, leaf senescence, ethylene response, salt stress tolerance, and pathogen resistance. The identified cAMP-responsive genes are implicated in transcriptional regulation, plant hormone signaling pathways, and diterpenoid biosynthesis, among others. Results provide a framework for further exploration of cAMP signaling in plant plasticity.

Elevation of GhDREB1B transcription by a copy number variant significantly improves chilling tolerance in cotton

Yanan Wang et al.

Summary: Elevated transcript levels of GhDREB1B in AiSheng98 cotton enhance chilling tolerance by activating major cold-responsive genes, leading to accumulation of osmoregulants and mitigation of reactive oxygen species. GhDREB1B acts as a positive regulator that alters expression patterns of low-temperature stress-related genes in cotton, ultimately enhancing chilling tolerance.
