Advanced Grid Synchronization Scheme Based on Dual eSOGI-FLL for Grid-Feeding Converters

Summary: In this article, an improved grid synchronization method using a dual enhanced second-order generalized integrator (eSOGI) frequency-locked loop (FLL) for three-phase grid-feeding converters is proposed. The eSOGI is designed to accurately estimate the grid voltage by adjusting the gains based on the positive-sequence component. Additionally, the FLL structure suggests frequency rate limits to improve the grid frequency estimation under voltage sags. Simulation and experimental results demonstrate the improved power control performance of the proposed method compared to existing methods.

Summary: This article presents approaches for efficient modeling and systematic design of enhanced phase-locked loop (ePLL) structures. The article fills the gap in the existing literature by introducing an effective modeling approach and developing systematic design algorithms to simplify the design process. The ePLL application in a grid-connected inverter is studied and modeled, and design and simulation files are provided.
