Existence of Functional Connectome Fingerprint during Infancy and Its Stability over Months

Dan Hu et al.

Summary: The study suggests that the functional connectome fingerprint may exist since infancy and remain stable over early brain development, with the frontoparietal networks playing a significant role in both adult and infant connectome fingerprinting. The findings also demonstrate the relevance of this fingerprint to predicting cognitive performance in infants, highlighting the unique and stable marker of functional connectome retained by each individual during early brain development.

Brain Age Estimation From MRI Using Cascade Networks With Ranking Loss

Jian Cheng et al.

Summary: A novel 3D convolutional network, TSAN, was proposed for brain age estimation from MRI data, with improvements including a two-stage cascade network architecture and novel ranking losses. Experiments demonstrated that TSAN provides accurate brain age estimation and that the brain age gap can be used as an effective biomarker for distinguishing Alzheimer's disease and Mild Cognitive Impairment.

BrainGNN: Interpretable Brain Graph Neural Network for fMRI Analysis

Xiaoxiao Li et al.

Summary: Researchers proposed BrainGNN framework, utilizing graph neural network to analyze fMRI images for discovering neurological biomarkers, incorporating novel Ra-GConv layers for visually highlighting ROIs and regularization terms for promoting reasonable ROI selection. Experimental results demonstrate that BrainGNN outperforms alternative fMRI image analysis methods in evaluation metrics and yields community clustering and ROI detection results consistent with previous findings.

Age-Net: An MRI-Based Iterative Framework for Brain Biological Age Estimation

Karim Armanious et al.

Summary: The concept of biological age (BA) is important in clinical practice, but hard to grasp due to the lack of a clearly defined reference standard. This study proposes an imaging-based framework for organ-specific BA estimation, utilizing deep learning networks and data cleaning algorithms to estimate BA and analyze its correlation with cognitive deterioration.
