Multi-Scale Sparse Graph Convolutional Network For the Assessment of Parkinsonian Gait

Rui Guo et al.

Summary: Automated assessment of gait motor disorder in Parkinson's disease patients is urgently needed in clinical practice. This study proposes a novel graph convolutional network model for video assessment of PD gait motor disorder. The model can simultaneously model spatial information and temporal variations, and extract discriminative features through a multi-scale attention mechanism. Experimental results on a clinical video dataset demonstrate the good performance of the proposed model, outperforming existing assessment methods.

Symmetrical Enhanced Fusion Network for Skeleton-Based Action Recognition

Jun Kong et al.

Summary: This article presents a novel method for skeleton-based action recognition using a multi-stream network called Symmetrical Enhanced Fusion Network (SEFN). The network comprises spatial, temporal, and fusion streams to extract multi-level features and fuse them with a Multi-perspective Attention Fusion Module (MPAFM), enhancing feature extraction and addressing the issue of insufficient interaction between different forms of features in the network. Experiment results on large-scale benchmarks demonstrate competitive performance of the proposed method.

Richly Activated Graph Convolutional Network for Robust Skeleton-Based Action Recognition

Yi-Fan Song et al.

Summary: A multi-stream graph convolutional network (GCN) is proposed to improve the robustness of human action recognition models by learning discriminative features from skeleton joints with different activation degrees, reducing sensitivity to non-standard skeletons. This method achieves comparable performance on standard and synthetic datasets, alleviating performance deterioration caused by occluded and disturbed joints.

OpenPose: Realtime Multi-Person 2D Pose Estimation Using Part Affinity Fields

Zhe Cao et al.

Summary: This work presents a real-time approach to detect the 2D pose of multiple people in an image, achieving high accuracy and real-time performance regardless of the number of people in the image. By refining PAFs separately, both runtime performance and accuracy are significantly improved. Additionally, the first combined body and foot keypoint detector reduces inference time and maintains accuracy compared to running them sequentially.
