Ivabradine improves survival and attenuates cardiac remodeling in isoproterenol-induced myocardial injury

Fedor Simko et al.

Summary: This study found that ivabradine significantly improved survival rate and prolonged average survival time in isoproterenol-induced heart damage. Ivabradine also reduced left ventricular remodeling and hydroxyproline content, while attenuating heart rate and systolic blood pressure decline.

Comparison of the effects of losartan, captopril, angiotensin II type 2 receptor agonist compound 21, and MAS receptor agonist AVE 0991 on myocardial ischemia-reperfusion necrosis in rats

Onural Ozhan et al.

Summary: The study compared the effects of different drugs on myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury and demonstrated the importance of AT(1), AT(2), and MAS receptors in this process. Inhibition of Ang II formation, blockade of AT(1) receptor, and stimulation of AT(2) receptor showed beneficial effects by reducing infarct size.

Decreased serum ACE2 levels in patients with connective tissue diseases

Xiaojun Tang et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the serum concentration and activity of ACE2 in patients with connective tissue diseases. The results showed that ACE2 concentration was significantly decreased but activity was increased in CTD patients, with ACE2 concentration associated with glucocorticoid dosage in SLE patients.

Mas receptor activation attenuates allergic airway inflammation via inhibiting JNK/CCL2-induced macrophage recruitment

Luna Hong et al.

Summary: The study showed that Mas receptor expression decreased in acute allergic airway inflammation and activation of Mas receptor exerted an anti-inflammatory effect in the bronchial epithelium, inhibiting CCL2-dependent macrophage recruitment, suggesting Mas receptor, CCL2, and phospho-JNK as potential targets for treating allergic airway inflammation.
