Nanosized ZnIn2S4 supported on facet-engineered CeO2 nanorods for efficient gaseous elemental mercury immobilization

Tao Jia et al.

Summary: CeO2/ZnIn2S4 composite material shows excellent adsorption performance towards elemental mercury in a wide temperature range, with higher adsorption capacity and better resistance to sulfur, oxygen, and nitrogen oxidation compared to pure CeO2. Density functional theory calculations and experimental results confirm that the active oxygen and sulfur sites on the surface are the most stable adsorption sites for mercury.

Ultrafast electron extraction by 2D carbon nitride modified with CoS cocatalyst for efficient photocatalytic performance

Yanhua Song et al.

Summary: In this study, CoS nanoflower as a cocatalyst was loaded onto two-dimension carbon nitride (2D CN) to enhance the photocatalytic performance for the degradation of Rhodamine B. The CoS nanoflower demonstrated the capability of extracting photogenerated electrons rapidly from 2D CN to promote efficient charge separation. The CoS/2D CN showed improved degradation activity compared to 2D CN, as well as superior photostability after four cycles, and was also effective for photocatalytic H2 evolution reaction.

Spherical-shaped CuS modified carbon nitride nanosheet for efficient capture of elemental mercury from flue gas at low temperature

Fangjun Wang et al.

Summary: The study used nanosheet g-C3N4 modified by CuS for capturing flue gas mercury, achieving a removal efficiency of nearly 100% for Hg0, with no significant inhibition effects from common components in the flue gas, showing promising potential as a substitute for traditional adsorbents under various flue gas conditions.
