Transformation of Basic and Non-basic Nitrogen Compounds during Heavy Oil Hydrotreating on Two Typical Catalyst Gradations

Yu-En Li et al.

Summary: The study found that NBN compounds were more difficult to process compared to BN compounds during hydrotreating. The removal of multi-heteroatom compounds mainly occurred in BN compounds, while the conversion of multi-heteroatom compounds and the hydrodearomatization of N-1 class species happened simultaneously in NBN compounds.

Catalytic Cracking of Diverse Vacuum Residue Hydrocracking Gas Oils

Dicho Stratiev et al.

Summary: The study found that secondary heavy oils follow second-order reaction kinetics on a commercial FCC catalyst. The FCC conversion strongly correlates with the gas oil Kw characterization factor, while product yields depend on the secondary gas oil carbon atoms number, aromatic ring index, paraffinic and aromatic carbon content, and the total aromatics content.
