Squeezed light at 2128 nm for future gravitational-wave observatories

Christian Darsow-Fromm et al.

Summary: Gravitational-wave observatories previously used 1064 nm laser wavelength but are now exploring the use of 2128 nm wavelength for improved sensitivity. While the current squeeze factor is limited by the quantum efficiency of photodiodes, there is potential for achieving larger squeeze factors with advancements in photodiode technology. The shift to 2128 nm is seen as a cost-effective option for future gravitational-wave observatories.

Physics of the Inverted Harmonic Oscillator: From the lowest Landau level to event horizons

Varsha Subramanyan et al.

Summary: The inverted harmonic oscillator (IHO) Hamiltonian is presented in this work as a paradigm for understanding quantum mechanics in a variety of physical systems, demonstrating its applications in scattering and time-decay phenomena. The IHO can be studied as different generators and potentials, allowing for interpretations of diverse effects such as the Hawking-Unruh effect. This approach enables the reinterpretation of geometric responses in terms of relativistic effects and the exploration of quasinormal modes (QNMs) through wave packet scattering.

Circuit Complexity from Cosmological Islands

Sayantan Choudhury et al.

Summary: This paper studies cosmological circuit complexity in the presence or absence of quantum extremal islands in negative or positive cosmological constants. It concludes the non-universality of these measures in different parameter space, suggesting their dependence on the parameters of the model under consideration.

Quantum aspects of chaos and complexity from bouncing cosmology

Parth Bhargava et al.

Summary: This paper explores the out-of-equilibrium aspects and quantum chaos in the universe using circuit complexity and Out-of-Time Ordered correlation functions. By studying two bouncing cosmological solutions and utilizing the two-mode squeezed state formalism, estimates on the chaos features and equilibrium temperature of the universe are obtained.

QMetrology from QCosmology: Study with entangled two qubit open quantum system in De Sitter space

Sayantan Choudhury et al.

Summary: In this paper, the techniques of parameter estimation theory and the concept of Quantum Metrology are applied to investigate the role of certain physical quantities in the open quantum dynamics of a two entangled qubit system. It is found that Quantum Metrology plays a superior role in improving the precision and accuracy of parameter estimation compared to classical parameter estimation theory. The paper also presents a new avenue in Quantum Metrology which surpasses classical parameter estimation.

Circuit complexity as a novel probe of quantum entanglement: A study with black hole gas in arbitrary dimensions

Kiran Adhikari et al.

Summary: This article investigates the connection between quantum circuit complexity and entanglement entropy in the black hole gas framework using the two-mode squeezed states formalism, analyzing the behavior of these quantities in three different spatial dimensions and observing significant differences in their evolution with respect to the scale factor. It also studies the relationship between equilibrium temperature, rate of change of complexity with scale factor, and entanglement entropy, finding that the equilibrium temperature depends quartically on entanglement entropy regardless of spatial dimension.

Superposition of two-mode squeezed states for quantum information processing and quantum sensing

Fernando R. Cardoso et al.

Summary: Superpositions of two-mode squeezed states are investigated for potential applications in quantum information processing and quantum sensing. These states exhibit properties such as mode statistics, entanglement degree, and symmetric peaks in phase space that can be used as pointers for quantum sensors to indicate displacement of oscillators.
