Wogonin Induces Cell Cycle Arrest and Apoptosis of Hepatocellular Carcinoma Cells by Activating Hippo Signaling

Keyan Wu et al.

Summary: This study demonstrated that wogonin induced HCC cell cycle arrest and apoptosis probably by activating the MOB1-LATS1 pathway to inhibit YAP and TAZ activation. These findings provide a theoretical basis for HCC treatment.

An AKT/PRMT5/SREBP1 axis in lung adenocarcinoma regulates de novo lipogenesis and tumor growth

Liu Liu et al.

Summary: The study found that in lung adenocarcinoma, overexpression of SDMA-modified mSREBP1 (mSREBP1-SDMA) is correlated with AKT-473P expression and poor prognosis. AKT activation upregulates SREBP1, while PRMT5 knockdown can reverse AKT signaling-mediated mSREBP1 destabilization. Furthermore, AKT activation promotes the binding of cytoplasmic PRMT5 (cPRMT5) to mSREBP1, indicating a regulatory mechanism in de novo lipogenesis and lung cancer growth.

Epidemiology and Prevention of Prostate Cancer

Giorgio Gandaglia et al.

Summary: Prostate cancer (PCa) rates vary profoundly worldwide, with incidence and mortality rates being highest in Northern Europe and the Caribbean, respectively. South-Central Asia has the lowest epidemiological burden. Family history, race, and hereditary syndromes are well-established risk factors for PCa. Modifiable risk factors may impact the risk of developing PCa and that of dying from the disease itself, but little evidence exists for any clear indication for prevention other than early diagnosis to reduce PCa mortality.
