Association of Public Health Measures During the COVID-19 Pandemic With the Incidence of Infectious Conjunctivitis

Juan M. Lavista Ferres et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the association between public health interventions during the COVID-19 pandemic and internet search interest as well as emergency department visits for infectious conjunctivitis. The results showed a decrease in search interest and emergency department encounters for nonallergic conjunctivitis after the implementation of public health measures. Furthermore, the study suggests that social distancing measures and hygiene practices may have contributed to a decrease in infectious conjunctivitis on a population level.
