Copula-Based Bivariate Return Period Analysis and Its Implication to Hydrological Design Event

Yuliang Zhou et al.

Summary: In univariate frequency analysis, the return period of a hydrological event can represent the design criteria for hydraulic structures. However, in the multivariate context, there is no monotonic correspondence between the joint return period of hydrological load and the response of the hydraulic structure. Therefore, multivariate hydrological design events should not be used to determine the design parameters of hydraulic structures.

Coupled hydrology-crop growth model incorporating an improved evapotranspiration module

Yuliang Zhang et al.

Summary: By coupling the VIC model with a crop growth model and improving the evapotranspiration module, the study successfully enhanced the accuracy of simulation results. The simulation in the upstream watershed of the Qingkou River in China showed improved performance in modeling hydrological elements.

Identification and characteristics analysis of Meiyu in Anhui Province based on the National Standard of Meiyu monitoring indices

Yuliang Zhou et al.

Summary: This study investigates the spatial characteristics of Meiyu precipitation in Anhui Province using atmospheric circulation conditions and meteorological factors, showing that NHA is a transitional region between Meiyu and non-Meiyu. A Meiyu intensity index proposed in the study performs better in flood and drought identification compared to the national standard index.
