Experimental investigation of SI engine characteristics using Acetone-Butanol-Ethanol (ABE) - Gasoline blends and optimization using Particle Swarm Optimization

P. Dinesha et al.

Summary: This study experimentally investigates the characteristics of spark ignition (SI) engine using gasoline blended with Acetone-Butanol-Ethanol (ABE) as hydrogen and oxygen carriers. A multi-objective optimization technique, Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), is used to optimize the engine performance and emission parameters. The results show that by controlling the blend percentage and speed, the engine can achieve optimal combustion efficiency and emission performance.

Machine learning prediction of ORC performance based on properties of working fluid

Yannan Peng et al.

Summary: This study focuses on developing machine learning methods to predict the performance of basic ORC and regenerative ORC based on thermodynamic properties of working fluids. ANN models are used to separately predict thermodynamic processes and cycle performances, with a focus on vapor slope modeling and temperature difference for regenerative ORC. The accuracy of cycle performance predictions for both types of ORC is validated using average absolute deviations.

Comparative analysis and evaluation of different working fluids for the organic rankine cycle performance

Sivasakthivel Thangavel et al.

Summary: The study focuses on finding the best working fluid for Organic Rankine Cycles (ORCs) at specific temperature limits, considering thermodynamic analysis, environmental impact, and protection. Among the six organic fluids studied, R600a is found to be the most preferable choice in terms of COP and pressure ratio, while factors like mass flow rate and refrigerating capacity may make R245fa & R123 more suitable options. However, concerns about ODP and GWP may lead to the phase out of R123 and the intolerable environmental impact of R245fa.
