Role of different counter electrodes on performance of TiO2 based dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) fabricated with dye extracted from Hibiscus Sabdariffa as sensitizer

Subhash Chand Yadav et al.

Summary: The influence of different counter electrode materials on the performance of TiO2 nanorod-based dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) assembled with hibiscus dye was investigated. Carbon, graphite, and gold as counter electrode materials strongly affected the energy conversion efficiency of DSSCs. The introduction of a compact layer and the use of appropriate counter electrode materials can enhance the performance of the solar cells.

A strategy for efficient parallel tandem dye-sensitized solar cells based on doubled-sided Pt electrode with a novel phenothiazine-based dye and N719

Shucheng Huang et al.

Summary: This paper presents the use of tandem dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) as a promising approach for improving absorption spectra and enhancing photocurrent density and voltage. A new organic dye, PTZ-17, with complementary optical properties to N719 dye was developed. The manufactured parallel tandem DSSCs exhibited a high photoelectric conversion efficiency of 10.52%. This study provides a novel strategy for further exploration of dye molecular selection and high-efficient DSSCs preparation.

Synergistic effect of complementary organic dye co-sensitizers for potential panchromatic light-harvesting of dye-sensitized solar cells

M. H. Abdullah et al.

Summary: The co-sensitization of chlorophyll and anthocyanin pigments extracted from Mitragyna Speciosa and Rubus Fruticosus has been successfully investigated, leading to broader absorption wavelength and higher spectral response in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSC). The optimal volumetric ratio of Anth-80%, Chll-20% has shown remarkable power conversion efficiency and panchromatic light sensitization properties in the visible region.
