In silico assessment of potential leads identified from Bauhinia rufescens Lam. as α-glucosidase and α-amylase inhibitors

Wadah Osman et al.

Summary: This study focuses on the in silico assessment of antidiabetic phytoconstituents isolated from Bauhinia rufescens Lam, showing that eriodictyol has high potential as an inhibitor against alpha-amylase and rutin is potent against alpha-glucosidase. It is suggested that these compounds exert their antidiabetic effects by inhibiting the enzyme activities.

Emre Kadir Ayan et al.

Summary: This study synthesized and evaluated fourteen 2-(substitutedphenylamino)quinazolin-4(3H)-one derivatives for their alpha-glucosidase inhibitory activities. The results showed that the synthesized compounds exhibited potent inhibition against alpha-glucosidase, with compound 12 showing the highest activity. The most active compound displayed uncompetitive inhibition against alpha-glucosidase, indicating its potential as a lead compound for developing novel inhibitors.
