Summary: The experimental study on the anaerobic digestion of palm oil mill effluent (POME) in an anaerobic upflow sludge blanket reactor (UASBR) with bauxite residue showed that under suitable conditions, high methane production efficiency can be achieved, with good results in terms of COD removal rate and CH4 production rate.
