Analysis on factors affecting the cooling effect of optical shielding in pavement coatings

Wei Si et al.

Summary: This study applies excellent tungsten bronze nanoparticles to pavement coatings for the first time, aiming to alleviate temperature-related damage of pavement and urban heat island effect. The results show that the solar reflectivity of the coating is close to that of asphalt binder. The coating made of Cs0.3WO3 nanoparticles exhibits the most significant cooling effect.

Applicability assessment of stearic acid/palmitic acid binary eutectic phase change material in cooling pavement

Jiasheng Dai et al.

Summary: The binary eutectic phase change material of stearic acid/palmitic acid has higher phase transition enthalpy and a more stable crystal structure, enhancing the anti-deforming capability of asphalt binder. However, encapsulating technologies must be adopted to prevent the deleterious impact of liquefiable phase change materials on the binder.
