Summary: This study confirms the efficacy of pediatric endoscopic pilonidal sinus treatment (PEPSiT) in reducing recurrence and infection rates in pediatric patients with pilonidal sinus disease (PSD). Laser epilation (LE) combined with oxygen-enriched oil-based gel dressing showed significant improvements in wound healing time and lower rates of disease recurrence and wound infections compared to traditional silver sulfadiazine spray. LE is recommended as an adjunctive treatment for all PEPSiT patients to prevent recurrence and promote faster wound healing.
