Summary: Studies have shown that event-related electroencephalographic oscillations (EROs) exhibit consistent abnormalities in patients with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, particularly in the delta and theta frequency bands. Compared to cognitively unimpaired older adults, patients with these diseases also demonstrate significantly reduced amplitudes in the alpha and beta frequency bands.
