Techno-economic analysis of a hybrid solar wind electric vehicle charging station in highway roads

Jayasankar Nishanthy et al.

Summary: This paper analyzes the techno-economic and environmental factors of hybrid solar wind vehicle charging stations in Southern Tamil Nadu, India. The sensitivity analysis is performed at different highway locations to determine the feasibility of using renewable energy sources for electric vehicle charging. The results show that the designed charging station is capable of charging 17 electric vehicles and Virudhunagar is the most cost-effective location with a 50% reduction in emission. Madurai produces the highest amount of electrical energy compared to other locations, making it an ideal choice for establishing charging stations.

Application of a Genetic Algorithm With a Fuzzy Objective Function for Optimized Siting of Electric Vehicle Charging Devices in Urban Road Networks

Aleksander Krol et al.

Summary: Minimizing the negative environmental impact of transportation is better achieved through efficient utilization of natural resources rather than by limiting mobility. Increasing the use of electric energy and developing electromobility are effective ways to reduce harmful pollution and noise. Difficult decisions faced by municipalities, such as siting charging stations and budget limitations, can be addressed by using a combination of genetic algorithms, fuzzy logic, and Pareto front analysis to find optimal solutions.
