Predictors of long-term success after catheter ablation of premature ventricular complexes

Sung I. Im et al.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate predictors of long-term success after acutely successful PVC RFCA. Female sex, single-PVC morphology, and earliest-onset of bipolar electrogram >= 24 ms pre-QRS were identified as independent predictors for long-term success. The study also found that RFCA at sites with local onset <15 ms pre-QRS are unlikely to be successful in the long term.

The Mitral Annular Disjunction of Mitral Valve Prolapse Presentation and Outcome

Benjamin Essayagh et al.

Summary: The study found that the presence of MAD in MVP patients is common and strongly linked to advanced myxomatous degeneration. MAD is independently associated with a long-term excess incidence of clinical arrhythmic events, but within the first 10 years post-diagnosis, it is not linked to excess mortality.

Electrophysiological Substrate in Patients with Barlow's Disease

Pasquale Vergara et al.

Summary: Mitral valve prolapse (MVP) is a common valvular heart disease that affects 2-3% of the general population and can lead to sudden cardiac death and ventricular arrhythmias. Recent advancements in imaging techniques have helped identify new risk factors. Catheter ablation of ventricular arrhythmias in MVP patients is considered challenging.
